Photo of the Day: Young Strawberry

Fun fact: Like all manly-men, I have a garden. And I grow a lot of my own food. Mostly because it's cheaper (and more gratifying) than buying food at the supermarket. But also because it's kind of cool to work the earth and feel productive. Anyway-- A gopher destroyed much of my garden earlier this season, and I had to transplant most of my plants into above-ground boxes and buckets. When I pulled this strawberry plant out, it was basically dead, with a direct tunnel dug right through its main root system. But it has since managed to come back to life, and I'm finally starting to get some insanely red strawberries. Nature is awesome.
