Gary Barnes is a musical theatre composer currently located just outside of San Diego, California. He has been composing since late 2005, and finished his first show, Amira: A Modern Opera, in January 2009. Over the course of one week in March 2009, he wrote his second show, Ugh: The Musical, on a whim. As of late March 2009, plans are in the works for a third endeavor to be started while the demo albums for his previous two shows near completion.
As a vocalist, Gary is a lyric baritone with experience in ensemble, quartet and solo singing. He has also been involved in the performance aspect of musical theatre, and hopes to someday study acting extensively. Gary is a strong supporter of Creative Commons licensing, under which his second show, Ugh: The Musical, is shared.
In addition to theatre, Gary also has significant photography experience, including studio work, street photography and photojournalism. He currently shoots in digital, but he has worked with film in the past and has a personal preference for rangefinders.
