Gary Barnes is a photographer, composer and singer/songwriter living near San Diego, California. Currently in school heading for a degree in media communications, the vast majority of his work is created in his spare time as side-projects for self-improvement. As a California native, he has a passion for adventure and the great outdoors, which is often reflected in his visual work. In addition to writing about his personal photography, a large portion of his talent goes towards freelance opportunities. In addition to this, he personally creates and manages all of his web properties.
In terms of music, Gary's primary background focused on classical training in choral studies. From there, he branched out into music composition, which eventually met with his interest in musical theatre. After composing two complete modern musicals, he turned to popular music for inspiration. His main focus now is as a singer/songwriter, composing genre-crossing works of modern and alternative music with strong rock, pop and classical influences. Though he does play a couple instruments, the main bulk of his music is created digitally with minimal hardware, focusing on skill rather than equipment to create a successful sound.
